Joanna Brooks Stroud


Joanna’s current practice primarily focuses on personal injury defense, premises liability defense, product liability defense, construction defect litigation, professional liability, and general insurance defense.  Joanna has also handled numerous other types of cases, including employment-related cases, lender liability cases, and insurance bad faith cases. She practices regularly in state and federal court and has extensive experience with complex litigation and class actions.  She has represented general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, insurance companies, businesses, and professionals. Prior to joining Chandler & Dudgeon, Joanna practiced law for eight years with a well-respected civil litigation firm in Charleston, South Carolina where her practice focused on complex commercial litigation and the efficient resolution of business disputes.  She also handled numerous employment cases and counseled clients on complex issues in the employment process. Joanna graduated magna cum laude from Clemson University’s Calhoun Honors College in 2006 with a degree in English.  She graduated in 2009 from Charleston School of Law, where she received CALI awards in Insurance and Maritime Law.  While in law school, she served as Laws in Brief Editor of MALABU Maritime Law Bulletin. She also interned for the Honorable Robert S. Carr, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the District of South Carolina.  She is admitted to practice in both South Carolina and North Carolina.
